Break has operated charity shops since 1968. We have 49 shops across East Anglia and the West Country. The income from our shops is vital to the development and continuation of the services we provide for children, young people and families.

We pride ourselves on selling good quality donated goods at affordable prices. We operate a recycling system, so every donation is put to good use, generating more income. Our managers have the experience and training to get the best value out of your donations to maximise our income potential. Your donations can be enhanced by signing up to Gift Aid.

We could not run our shops without the dedication of our trained volunteers, who give their time freely, week in week out. They bring a wide variety of expertise which is invaluable to our shop managers.

Break's shops are located across East Anglia and the West Country. We also have a specialist Vintage shop in Tewkesbury.

In February 2019, Break opened its first gown lounge above the existing shop in Attleborough. Brides-to-be can purchase a brand new, preloved or vintage gown for a fraction of their original price while giving to a good cause.

The shop has hundreds of unique wedding and special occasion dresses on sale. As well as attire for brides, the shop stocks hundreds of brand new and preloved special occasion dresses for prom as well as men’s suits.

Since teaming up with Prom Nation in 2018, the charity has seen hundreds of brand new and preloved prom dresses being donated in store to support the annual ‘Pick a Dress’ campaign in aid of Break.

Covid-19

After temporarily closing our doors during lockdown, Break are pleased that we have been able to safely reopen the majority of our charity shops. Please note that drop off times for dontations are between 9-10am and 4-5pm.

Prom Nation

You can be a part of something amazing! Donate a brand new or pre-loved prom dress and help make prom night dreams a reality. Tracey, the founder of Prom Nation collects good quality dresses, shoes, boys suits and accessories. Items go on sale each spring to help make prom affordable and accessible for all. Better still 100% of the proceeds raised goes directly back to Break. There are so many ways you can donate a dress. Get in touch today to arrange a FREE collection or dress drop off. Stay up-to-date and follow the campaign on Facebook.

#MyBreakOutfit

Over the summer of 2018, we invited a variety of fashion bloggers into our Break shop on Unthank Road in Norwich. Each week a different blogger undertook the ‘Mannequin Challenge’, using thrifty fashion finds from our rails to dress the mannequin. The challenge saw an uplift in donations to store and each blogger shared their positive experience of volunteering at Break for the day. We encourage all Break shoppers to share their thrifty fashion finds using our hashtag #MyBreakOutfit across social media.
